We are highly excited to inform you of the Smart Karate Kids Tournament and clinic, slated on August 21 and 22, 10:00a.m. to 6:00p.m., at the Sta. Lucia Mall. This two-day affair features a Karate tournament on August 21, Saturday; and a clinic, Mohon exhibition and Philippine Karate team competition on August 22, Sunday.
The tournament, in providing for a fairer game, features special kumite events for novices (White to Green belt level) for all ages. We are also giving away Smart Load and a cool Smart sports shirt for all participants entering in “double events.” Entry fees are P200 for single, and P400 for double events. This offer is a great value for your money. Your group is also encouraged to take part in our Karate clinics and Mohon exhibition contests on August 22 - free of charge.
Smart Telecoms is graciously sponsoring this event in support of PKF’s hosting of the 2012 AKF Cadet and Juniors Championships. Smart Karate Kid is sanctioned and will be officiated by the PKF.
We are sure that you will enjoy your time at the sprawling Sta. Lucia mall and experience good competition. Kindly read our schedule on the following pages and see you at the games!
My warmest regards,
David Lay ISKF, Country Director Mobile# 0917-7920930
The Tournament Organizers, in the interest of fair play, would like to ask for your assistance in ensuring that your students/athletes compete in their proper categories. The ages and the ranks (Kyu) of your athletes should be strictly supervised; i.e. Juan is 12 years old and is a purple belt; Juan should then compete in Kata for 10-12 yrs old, Intermediate Level. Juan should also only compete in Kumite for 12-13 yrs old, Advanced Level.
Juan is not allowed to compete in an age bracket that is lower than 10-12 yrs old for Kata nor lower than 12-13 yrs old for Kumite (follow the proper age bracketing of the student). Juan cannot also compete in the Novice Level for Kata because he is a Purple belt nor can Juan compete in the Novice Level for Kumite.
Please carefully indicate in your entry list the proper ages and ranks of your students so that the tournament can run as scheduled. We appreciate your utmost cooperation. PKF Accredited Coaches should bring their PKF Coaching ID (issued during the Dagupan Nationals). This ID entitles them with a P50 rebate on each event per student. (i.e. 10 students competing in double events each. 10 (students) x 2 (double events) x P50 = P1,000 (total rebate for his 10 students).
We are encouraging your students to compete in both Kata and Kumite. A special event for Novice Level (white to green belts) will be set up. We highly appreciate your support for our tournament.
